Maritime Technical Instructor (Engine)

Key responsibilities include to:

• Design and develop comprehensive training programs that align with industry standards and best practices.
• Develop and deliver engaging and informative lectures, practical demonstrations, and hands-on training sessions on various engineering subjects.
• Assess student performance through examinations, practical assessments, and ongoing feedback to ensure understanding and competency.
• Stay current with developments in maritime regulations, technologies, and teaching methodologies to provide up-to-date information.
• Collaborate with industry professionals to enhance course content and ensure relevance to current maritime trends and emerging technologies.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and feedback for continuous improvement of training delivery.
• Provide mentorship and support to students throughout their learning journey to foster confidence and skill development.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance personal teaching skills and knowledge within the maritime sector.

About You

• A demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training programs using a range of innovative and flexible delivery and assessment methods.
• Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience in training and assessment.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment.

Required Qualifications

• MED 1 Near Coastal and/or
• Engineer Class 3 Near Coastal and/or
• STCW Engineering Officer of the Watch Unlimited and/or
• Appropriately qualified RAN personnel
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or ability to achieve).
