Job Purpose:
To contribute to the growth, performance, and profitability by assisting with general site work, on-bench delivery of quality bulk explosives, products and services safely, on time, and in full (OTIF) (and PLTS where applicable). This role ensures adherence to established safety standards and procedures.
Job Description:
•
To perform all daily tasks assigned in all plant processes and bulk material handling as per Operating
Instruction or Training Module
•
To perform all duties according to Safe Working Practice and SHE requirements in the open pit, magazine and plant areas to ensure safety of operations and compliance
•
To ensure the safe and correct handling of Initiation Systems, Packaged and Bulk Explosives
•
To make sure blast holes are charged to the correct stemming heights and avoid water pockets in the explosive column.
•
To ensure adherence to density specifications and compositions in final MMU product quality control
•
To effectively operate MMU and ensure strict adherence to MMU basis of safety and MMU driving procedures.
•
To ensure correct and timeous completion of required documentation related to all aspects of explosives delivery (Vehicle check lists, blast reports, incident reports).
•
To perform any other duties within his/her competencies as the demands of the job require to ensure efficient and continuous business operations
Qualification
•
Minimum of SSCE, NVTI , A’Level or equivalent
•
4-8 years of experience in the explosives/mining industry
•
Valid Ghanaian driving license class “EF”
•
Mechanical/electrical engineering aptitude
•
Possession of blasting and explosives handling certificates of competency
•
Proven customer interaction skills
•
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
•
Must be able to work for long hours in the open under changing climatic conditions
