Responsibilities
Performing experiments and managing an independent research project; techniques may include: tissue dissection, protein isolation and cellular sub-fractionation. phospho-protein enrichment, affinity purification for mass spectrometry. 1D/2D PAGE and Western blotting. preparation of samples for liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. analysis of proteomic datasets (pathway enrichment, gene ontogeny enrichment analysis, use of online tools. two-photon and confocal microscopy. optogenetics/chemogenetics. in vitro and in vivo transfections (viral vectors). mRNA/protein isolation, basic cloning techniques . RT- PCR (quantitative and single cell). Commit to actively fostering a welcoming culture of community and belonging. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. in biochemistry, neuroscience or a related life sciences field, and 0-3 years of postdoctoral experience. Experience in protein biochemistry, LC-MS, MALDI and software tools for proteomics dataset analysis is highly desirable. Experience in the neurobiology of pain is advantageous but not required.
